Job description
The Medical Records / Back Office Clerk is responsible for maintaining the security, confidentiality, completeness and accuracy of the client charts and records for CareMaster Medical Services in accordance with policies and procedures of the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a self starter and have the ability to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions. The ability to communicate well with patients, co-workers and other professional offices in person as well as over the phone is essential to the success of this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all state and federal guidleines with regard to records retention and release of information
- Maintain comprehensive Admission / Supervisory / Annual Visit list for distribution to care cordinator for scheduling
- Review all incoming paperwork for completemeness and accuracy, update the electronic record as needed.
- Ensure all required documents are filed timely in patient charts
- Regular audit of patient charts to ensure all required lelements are up to date in accordance with state guidelines
- Annual assessment of records for storage
- Assist as needed with special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
