Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality care to patients in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures such as measuring vital signs and documenting patient information
- Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures in various settings including Level II Trauma Center and Operating Room (OR)
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record systems
- Assist with patient care activities across diverse populations including Geriatrics and Medical-surgical patients
- Code for medical services provided
Requirements
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical coding
- Ability to perform patient service tasks efficiently and compassionately
- Experience working in a fast-paced medical environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
- ICD-9/ ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding
- Federal and state healthcare mandates and regulations
- Company policies and procedures
- Microsoft office applications and spreadsheets
- General front office procedures and skills
- Back office procedures and skills
- CPR/BLS (Required)
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.95 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
