Senior Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant at Carenet Health serves as a key contributor to the organization’s financial integrity and operational excellence. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in the month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial analyses, supporting the organization’s strategic decision-making.

This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment aligned with Carenet Health’s mission to deliver exceptional care.

This is a hybrid position based at our Woodstone location in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger.
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist with special accounting projects, including budget preparation and monitoring.
• Conduct analysis and create detailed summaries of accounts.
• Evaluate and support internal controls, including risk assessments and audits of risk areas.
• Collaborate with auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit requirements.
• Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future financial outcomes.
• Supervise and mentor clerical staff, if applicable.
• Contribute to team success by collaborating on shared objectives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Accounts Payable, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

Work Environment:

• Typical office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, headsets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
• Exposure to general office noise and interruptions, such as printers, phones, and visitors.

Physical Demands:

• Primarily a sedentary role requiring the ability to remain stationary for most of the workday.
• Occasional movement within the office to access equipment or attend meetings.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling office equipment.
