The Support Partner ensures a safe transport of patients and equipment to and from all patient care areas via stretcher, wheelchair, or ambulatory services in a very safe, efficient and timely manner. Informs nursing staff of the transport and return, with 100% accuracy of observing safety standards. A transporter must be able to communicate well with the patient to assure a positive patient experience. The transporter will also be assigned other tasks such as running errands to other departments, and the cleaning of equipment. The transporter plays a key role in the efficient operation of the Radiology department.
- Receives assignments from electronic system, such as hospital-issued phone, and reports completed assignments. Also, receives assignments as needed from dispatcher, and/or technical/clinical personnel involved with patient care.
- Obtain stretcher/wheelchair for use if unavailable on the floor for scheduled patient pickup.
- Returns all unused stretcher and wheelchairs to appropriate locations.
- Observes safety precautions when transporting.
- Always uses proper body mechanics when lifting, assisting patients
Flexible schedule, as needed, day and evening shifts with weekend and holiday requirements.
- High School Education or Equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a transporter is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flex Shift- As needed; Rotating Weekends/Holidays
