Cares of Western PA is a human services agency based in Wexford, PA. We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks
- Ensure all required paperwork for new hires is received and properly filed
- Conduct new hire orientations, training new hires on company culture, policies and procedures
- Track and oversee Employee Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Maintain employee records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Oversee employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Coordinate employee training programs and maintain training records
- Respond to claims for unemployment as appropriate
- Support the performance evaluation process by collecting and organizing feedback from managers
- Assist with employee relations issues, including conflict management and resolution
- Enter workers’ compensation injuries and work with workers’ compensation adjustor to handle claims
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Provide general HR related support and expertise as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Proven experience in an HR administrative role
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts professionally
