Position Summary

ESTIMATOR: LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

The Estimator has overall responsibility for the development of accurate, timely and detailed cost estimates on large, complex commercial landscape construction projects. The Estimator has extensive knowledge of landscape construction means and methods, costs and construction principles. The Estimator will be a self-starter and work efficiently with minimal oversight, must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to lead and work as part of a greater team.

• MUST have commercial landscape construction and irrigation experience. We are a commercial landscape construction company
• Will support projects for our Arizona and Colorado construction teams
• Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid
• Executes take-offs of construction documents; Utilizing On-Screen Take Offs
• Develops estimate spreadsheets based on quantity take-offs and obtain material pricing
• Obtains pricing for materials
• Obtains bids from subcontractors
• Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
• Attend pre-bid conferences
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies

• Demonstrated experience as an advanced Excel user
• Strong On-Screen Take-Off skills
• Excellent communication skills to gain agreement or acceptance of ideas, plans, activities, products, and services
• Ability to consistently deliver accurate estimations while setting realistic expectations of the company’s ability to deliver these products and /or services
• Excellent time management, problem-solving, decision making, presentation and organizational skills
• Ability to work under competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education/Experience/Licenses

• 1 years' experience in Construction Estimating – required
• 1 years' experience in LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATING - strongly preferred
• 2 years of college in construction management or related field – preferred
• 2 MS Office Suite experience with Advanced Excel Experience – required
• 2 Years’ On Screen Take Off experience - required
• 21 years of age - required
• Valid Driver License and acceptable motor vehicle record - required

Work Environment

•  Work will be performed in the office and out in the field for jobsite walks

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 30 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs
• In this role during job site walks, you will frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces
• When working in the field you will be working in conditions of extreme heat, wind, rain and must be able to be in direct sunlight for potentially several hours at a time
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

Travel Required

 Some in state travel based on business needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
