Job Summary: As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and providing exceptional care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, performing laboratory tests, managing patient records, and educating clients on proper pet care. You will ensure that our patients receive the best possible care in a comfortable and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Collect and record patient history and maintain accurate medical records.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Provide compassionate and effective client education on pet care, health, and nutrition.
- Assist with radiography, dental procedures, and other diagnostic tests.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
- Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling appointments and processing payments.
Qualifications:
- Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using veterinary software and medical equipment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- A genuine love for animals and a passion for providing high-quality veterinary care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in veterinary technology is a plus.
