Carex is partnering with a Healthcare/Insurance industry partner to find a skilled Manager of Business Process Engineering (Health Plan/Payer and/or Healthcare) for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is a highly collaborative, hybrid role requiring regular onsite presence (3 days/week) in either Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.
Summary
This leadership position plays a critical role in advancing enterprise-wide continuous improvement efforts within key Value Streams. The Business Process Manager will work alongside Business Consultants and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate, document, and optimize end-to-end business processes. With a strong focus on Lean Six Sigma principles, this role ensures the successful implementation and long-term adoption of improvements, requiring deep experience in organizational change management, project execution, and business operations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage end-to-end process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and leaders to document, evaluate, and redesign operational workflows.
- Transition process improvement strategies into actionable implementations with measurable outcomes.
- Supervise Business Process Consultants and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Maintain a focus on continuous improvement across seven key Value Streams, each supported by business consulting teams.
- Apply change management principles to ensure new processes are effectively adopted and sustained.
- Actively contribute to the migration and optimization of platforms and systems, including possible Healthrules or Cosmos transitions.
- Utilize tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, A3, FMEA, and Kanban boards to guide improvement efforts.
- Coordinate cross-functional team efforts from conception through successful execution and implementation.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- 7 years of experience in Business Process Management, Business Analytics, Project/Program Management, or related areas.
- Deep expertise in the healthcare payer industry with 7 years of experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification with 7 years of applied experience.
- Experience with platform migrations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, cross-functional teams.
- Experience supervising and developing Business Process Consultants.
- Familiarity with Healthrules and/or Cosmos platforms preferred.
- Proven ability to drive work hands-on with a strong execution mindset.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Teams, Visio, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working across both business and technology teams to design and implement future-state solutions.
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and change management practices is a plus.
