Qualifications
Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Early Intervention Services (or designee), the Juvenile Justice Behavioral Health Liaison provides outreach, resources and or linkage services to juveniles involved in the justice system or at risk of being involved in the justice system.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts interviews with clients and determines plan for each client based upon needs identified; makes referrals to appropriate level of services based on the individual’s needs.
- Assists the individual with linkage to identified services to address JJ/MH/SA needs.
- Is responsible for maintaining 65% community service time as defined by the Director of Early Intervention Services.
- Completes all required reports and other documentation within specified timeframes.
- Is available as a member of the JJR Team to clients 24 hours per day, seven days per week by means of an on-call cell phone that will be rotated.
- Participates in weekly team supervision and weekly individual supervision.
- Primarily responsible for creation and distribution of marketing materials, participates in public awareness initiatives, and assists with daily tasks as assigned by the Director of Early Intervention Services.
- Routinely meets and coordinates with Juvenile Court, DCS and SROs for referrals, assessment and recommendations, as assigned by the Director of Early Intervention Services.
- Completes outreach to referral sources (Juvenile Courts, middle/high schools, DCS) in an effort to relationship build with community partners
- Assists in facilitating community education (VAPE Classes, Nurturing Parenting Classes, YMHFA, and school presentations) as assigned by the Director of Early Intervention Services.
- Works collaboratively with the JJR team, promoting strengths based services, team cohesiveness, coverage for other team members when needed/appropriate, etc.
- Represents CAREY in a positive manner in the community (schools, courts, probation offices, meetings, training, etc)
- Other assigned duties by supervisor or management to meet the needs of the organization.
Position Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or a related field. Experience in a mental health or social service agency is desirable but not required.
