Job Purpose and Impact
The Cocoa and Chocolate Ingredients Merchant will contribute to handling a supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering edible oils that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost for Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate North America. We seek a professional who will manage physical and derivative positions in oils as you buy from multi-national suppliers and sell to Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate North America compound customers while ensuring a reliable pipeline of oils for Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate North America compound production locations.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with supply chain, product line management, quality assurance, sales, and operations to ensure efficient execution and a reliable raw material pipeline to Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate North America plants.
- Enter routine contract data and ensure our contract management databases and systems accurately reflect our current risk position for oils.
- Research and analyze supply and demand drivers in the oils market to build an executable trading game plan.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business and dynamics on all the commodities Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate North America merchandises in order to back up other merchants when they are out of the office.
- Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to meet their needs in solving routine problems and addressing complaints and concerns, and effectively negotiate and time purchases and sales to maximize profitability and hit merchandising budget.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
