Collections Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring timely payments, managing customer accounts, and maintaining smooth financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, collections, and customer service, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Post daily payments to NetSuite with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage collections by emailing and making phone calls to address past-due invoices.
• Forecast weekly incoming payments to support financial planning and cash flow management.
• Participate in daily collection meetings with the Head of Collections for Cargomatic.
• Distribute aging reports to customers and follow up as needed.
• Serve as a customer service representative for resolving disputed invoices.
• Issue credit memos in NetSuite as required.
• Conduct credit checks for new customers and complete credit reference requests for existing customers.
• Assist with scanning and emailing customer invoices when necessary.
• Gather and input data into AS400, and verify accuracy of valuable company information.
• Calculate and process monthly commissions for the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer relationships effectively.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar financial role.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Background in logistics, warehousing, or transportation industries is a plus.

The expected salary range for this role is $40,000 to $50,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
