What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Buyer, 65-75, Full Benefits Package position at CarHop?
As a member of our Inventory team, the Used Vehicle Buyer is responsible for attending
regional and online auto auctions in the assigned territory and, working within company
guidelines, acquiring inventory vehicles based on stores needs for the purpose of resale at stores
within the assigned territory.
This is a heavy travel position based out of Tulsa with a schedule of 4-5 nights on the road covering several states.
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience.

Ability to fly and drive are essential to this position.
Responsibilities
Prepare for and attend online and in person auctions
Inspect and bid on vehicles for sale, negotiate on the company’s behalf
Test drive and inspect vehicles after purchase to confirm quality & condition
Purchase vehicles in the acceptable price range
Properly document purchasing activities within our computer inventory system
Establish & build relationships with a network of auctions, dealers and wholesalers
Make arrangements for the transportation of all vehicles purchased to their respective
branches
Be familiar with the inventory and title circumstances, communicate to Branch Manager
as necessary
Develop wholesale networks and oversee wholesale’s and trade-in’s
Assist finance company at the auctions so they get a fair price on the repossessed cars
Ability to use system code readers and define with any engine light and assist in
reconditioning duties as needed
Assist in shuttling cars from lots as needed to balance inventory
Skills
Ability to make sound decisions under auction time constraints.
Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
Knowledge of market research and purchasing best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong analytical mindset
Outstanding organizational skills
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years buying experience
Must have a valid driver's license with driving record acceptable to the company
insurance carrier
Above average mechanical knowledge to identify potential mechanical issues
