Pizzeria Attendant - Buena Vista Suites

Scope of Position

The primary function of the Pizzeria Attendant is to prepare high quality pizza for the Bistro Pizza Express restaurant. The Pizzeria Attendant is responsible for timely and accurate preparation of made to order pizza and accurate preparation and plating of restaurant food items based on company specifications and function contracts. The Pizzeria Attendant should have a complete knowledge of all Pizzeria Attendant performance objectives.

Position Requirements

• One (1) year culinary experience preferred.
• Possess outstanding guest services skills, professional presentation, and experienced communication skills.
• Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
• A food handling certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment.
• Flexible in terms of working hours.

• Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.

• Effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.

• Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by Associates and guests.
• Must be able to obtain various payment methods and follow proper protocols regarding PCI compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all ingredients required for cooking such as cutting all vegetables and preparing mis en plas.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
• Monitor and maintain clean working area and cooking surfaces to prepare menu items.
• Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

• Follow Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

• Maintain refrigerators and kitchen in clean, organized manner with all food items labeled and dated to facilitate the necessary production to achieve company goals.

• Keep production of food at an adequate level, which does not result in excessive leftovers and waste.

• Strong knowledge of food safety with critical control temperatures, danger zones, cross contamination, sanitization, food borne illness, toxins, and chemical poisoning.

• Ensure the team leader is aware of any required that may be running short.

• Perform any other reasonable requests made by your manager or supervisor.

Education

• High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• One (1) year culinary experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus).
• Ability to engage with guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
• Ability to work with POS system to accurately process guest transactions.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery.
• Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Able to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Physical agility and ability to move quickly in confined spaces.
• Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
• Ability to push/pull/lift to 100lbs.
• Think clearly in high stress and intense situations.
• Ability to multitask and give directions under pressure.
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Work in areas of high heat and humidity.
