Caring Hearts and Hands of Columbia (CHHC) is seeking an executive director for Mid Missouri’s only community based, end-of-life home. This individual will require excellent leadership and fundraising experience to direct our not-for-profit organization. CHHC is a proud member of the Omega Home Network, a national organization of end-of-life homes. https://www.omegahomenetwork.org/

At CHHC we are dedicated to providing individuals and family members with a comfortable home where physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met with compassion, love, and respect during their end-of-life journey.

CHHC has been operational for almost two years and has experienced a growing demand for services, necessitating continuous funding and strategic partnerships. To address these challenges, we are seeking an Executive Director who will bring an entrepreneurial spirit and provide leadership oversight, strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight as directed by our Board of Directors.

Salary:

$65,000.00 annually


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does have supervisory responsibilities.


Position Type:

What you will be doing:

Fundraising and Donor Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and events to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations and complete grant requests.
  • Oversee donor relations, including acknowledgment, stewardship, and development of a mid-level monthly giving program.
  • Lead search for grant opportunities, applying, monitoring, reporting and overseeing all grant responsibilities.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee financial operations and manage expenses to align with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Finance Committee to develop and monitor the annual budget.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements and annual reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll.

Program and Organizational Management:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service projects/programs and ensure high quality via KQI’s.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels by assisting with the recruitment of employees and volunteers; share on-call rotation with the Operations Director.
  • Update, maintain and enforce all CHHC policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

Community Relations and Outreach:

  • Represent CHHC at community events, meetings, speaking engagements, and in the media.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
  • Lead community outreach initiatives to identify and address community needs and expansion.

Marketing and Public Relations:

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of marketing and public relations strategies to promote CHHC mission and programs.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including newsletters, social media content, and press releases.

Education & Experience Requirement:

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Nonprofit management experience including fundraising, financial oversight, budgeting, program development and grant writing.
  • Experience with donor management software.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with managing insurance policies and ensuring organizational compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and emergency situations with a calming, compassionate presence and demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking and community engagement.


Working Conditions:

Potential exposure to body fluids due to guests being cared for in the house.


Benefits Eligibility:

This position will receive 15 days of PTO accrued over the first year, 7 paid holidays, professional development opportunities, free parking, and bi-weekly pay. This position currently does not offer healthcare benefits but may in the future.
