Caring Hearts Animal Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our small animal practice. Caring Hearts Animal Hospital has been providing exemplary medical and surgical care to our patients since opening its doors in 2014. We are a busy and growing practice that has state of the art equipment that includes ultrasound, digital dental and whole body radiography, high speed dental machine, Class IV laser therapy, 3 anesthetic machines with Cardell Max 12/Surgivet Advisor for anesthetic monitoring and complete in house laboratory equipment (Procyte DX and Catalyst DX and Sedivue).

Caring Hearts Animal Hospital is located in Mashpee on beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts just 1 hour from Boston. Our facility includes 3 exam rooms, dedicated surgical suite, radiology suite, large treatment room and a well trained staff.

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality veterinary care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals
- Perform routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care for pets
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in animals
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including spaying/neutering and dental surgeries
- Administer medications and follow-up treatments as prescribed
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient operations

Experience:
- Prefer 2 years of experience as a veterinarian in a clinical setting but will accept new graduate (able and willing to mentor!)
- Proficient in animal catheterization, veterinary critical care, and aseptic technique
- Strong knowledge of animal care and handling techniques
- Experience in practice management is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and interpretation of test results

Skills:
- Animal catheterization: Ability to insert and manage catheters in animals for various medical procedures.
- Veterinary critical care: Proficiency in providing emergency medical treatment to critically ill or injured animals.
- Animal care: Knowledge of proper animal handling, feeding, grooming, and hygiene practices.
- Aseptic technique: Ability to maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures to prevent infections.
- Dog handling: Skill in safely restraining and handling dogs during examinations and procedures.
- Pet grooming: Knowledge of basic grooming techniques for dogs and cats.
- Animal handling: Ability to safely handle various types of animals during examinations and treatments.
- Practice management: Understanding of the business aspects of running a veterinary practice.
- Laboratory: Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures for analyzing blood samples, urine samples, etc.
- Pet care: Knowledge of pet nutrition, behavior, and general health maintenance.
