Job Summary
Denver, CO family searching for a part-time nanny/ house manager for their 8 year old and 11 year old through the school year, then full-time in the summer. The school year schedule is Monday-Thursday, 12 PM - 6 PM with a total of 24 hours guaranteed per week with flexibility. The summer schedule is M-Th 9-6 and Fridays 9-1. Responsibilities include picking up from school, handling after-school activity transportation, preparing light meals, doing laundry, tidying up after the kids, running errands during school hours, and being comfortable with administering medication and keeping up with the schedule.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and will be highly organized, an excellent communicator, and both imaginative and creative. They should be able to plan engaging and exciting outings, challenge the older child while ensuring suitable activities for the younger child, and demonstrate patience and understanding when the kids are having a tough time. Family is looking for a long-term contract with shorter hours during the school year and longer hours during the summer . Must be CPR/First Aid certified, have a valid driver's license, safe vehicle and clean driving record and be able to pass a background check.
Duties
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, considering their dietary needs and preferences.
- Engage children in stimulating, creative, and age-appropriate educational activities, such as arts and crafts, reading, and outdoor games.
- Manage medical accommodations for a child with epilepsy, including administering medications. Provide basic first aid and take necessary precautions to ensure the children's safety and well-being.
- Handle transportation needs, including school pick-up and after-school activities.
- Assist with child-related housekeeping duties, run errands, and contribute to the overall tidiness of the family environment.
- Build strong relationships with the children and their family, including traveling with the family as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare, nannying, and house managing is desirable.
- Experience with meal preparation and first aid is a significant advantage.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
