Duties

- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, collaborating with healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Monitor client health status, documenting any changes or concerns for review by healthcare providers.
- Provide specialized care for clients with conditions such as dementia, ensuring safety and comfort through appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home or group setting, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in direct support techniques and familiarity with care plans.
- Certification in CPR is preferred to ensure emergency readiness.
- Experience in home health settings or group homes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient monitoring practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and respect towards clients at all times.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules while maintaining a positive attitude.
