The Foster Care Licensing Specialist collaborates with DCFS to provide appropriate licensing services to individuals and families in the Foster Care and Adoption program including initial application, home-study, compliance monitoring and investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Actively recruits new foster homes for all foster care programs and supports community awareness of those programs.
- Completes home studies and licensing process for prospective foster homes.
- Completes compliance records for new foster homes.
- Submits accurate documentation of licensing matters. Documents on a Case Entry form the corrections that are to be made in the foster home to meet compliance.
- After placement, conducts 60-day and 6-month monitoring visits. Assures that foster homes are current on all issues, i.e. medicals - every 4 years, well-water inspection as required, pet vaccinations - every year.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services field is required. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
