Quality Inspector

About the Role
C.A. Picard is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high-quality control standards for core products, working closely with internal manufacturing and external suppliers.
How You'll Make an Impact
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our core products through comprehensive inspection processes and quality control measures. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting thorough inspections of core products from internal manufacturing operations and external suppliers and maintaining strict quality standards throughout the process. Performing daily spot checks of all core finishers and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of quality issues while reviewing finishing and inspection procedures with production operators.
The Specifics of the Role
As our Quality Inspector, you will:
· Coordinate, document, and track all phases of inspection processes, from preparation through follow-up.
· Generate comprehensive daily quality control reports that verify conformance with project-specific standards.
· Develop and maintain detailed quality control documentation as required by company protocols.
· Oversee material verification processes to ensure all received items meet approved submittal requirements and proper storage standards.
· Participate in pre-construction meetings with contractors and superintendents to address quality-related concerns.
· Monitor and document construction deficiencies while ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
· Verify proper maintenance of the project team's daily "as-built" drawings.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum one year of related experience and/or training
· Physical ability to stand for extended periods during working hours
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· GD&T competence
· Ability to work with imperial and the metric system
· Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous quality control or quality assurance experience
· Demonstrated ability to maintain and document conformance to quality plans
· Experience with testing and inspection processes
· Proven track record of identifying and verifying accuracy of subcontractor work
· Strong communication skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with testing agencies
