Job Summary
This role involves setting up and operating tubular stranding machines to manufacture wire rope (mechanical cable) while ensuring it meets the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform setup adjustments and accuracy checks during production.
- Maintain high-quality production levels for assigned jobs.
- Operate and monitor multiple machines as assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and lubricating machines.
- Identify machine faults and report them to supervisors or lead personnel.
- Pursue continuous improvements to operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline workflows, and collaborate to deliver exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Some mechanical experience is beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical processes and measurement.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to handle small wires.
- Capacity to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
- Able to prepare accurate documents, production sheets, and reports as per company procedures.
Work Environment
- The position is located in a factory setting.
- Requires walking and standing for extended periods in a noisy environment.
- Fast-paced work environment with standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary based on workload demands.
- Available hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with optional overtime shifts.
- Starting rate: $17 per hour.
