Description
As a full-time, paid R&D Intern at Carlisle Brake and Friction, Solon, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering team to assist in project and design work.
Responsibilities:
- Creating new and updating old Work Instructions
- Formulating Hand sheets, Bonding, Grooving
- Dynamic Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
- Retention Studies
- Adhesive Film Testing
- Learning Friction Material Composition
Accomplishments from Internship:
By the end of the Internship term, the Intern should know:
- Basic about wet friction material formulation,
- Hand sheet making and test part bonding for evaluation
- Tests that are used to evaluate the friction material formulation and how to interpret the data
- Finish at least 5 work instructions related to R & D activities once being trained by our technicians
- Whenever possible join in the customer problem solving activity
Requirements
- A student of Junior or Senior academic standing, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team
- Upholds organizational values and integrity
- Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and accuracy.
- Willing to be located onsite at Carlisle Brake and Friction R & D Center in Solon, OH
