As a full-time, paid R&D Intern at Carlisle Brake and Friction, Solon, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering team to assist in project and design work.
Responsibilities :
Creating new and updating old Work Instructions
Formulating Hand sheets, Bonding, Grooving
Dynamic Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
Retention Studies
Adhesive Film Testing
Learning Friction Material Composition
Accomplishments from Internship :
By the end of the Internship term, the Intern should know :
Basic about wet friction material formulation,
Hand sheet making and test part bonding for evaluation
Tests that are used to evaluate the friction material formulation and how to interpret the data
Finish at least 5 work instructions related to R & D activities once being trained by our technicians
Whenever possible join in the customer problem solving activity
Requirements
A student of Junior or Senior academic standing, pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team
Upholds organizational values and integrity
Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and accuracy.
Willing to be located onsite at Carlisle Brake and Friction R & D Center in Solon, OH
