At Carlisle Early Education Center, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for young children. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team and manage our financial processes, ensuring the center runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
- Manage payroll processing for all staff, including quarterly payroll and W-2 filings.
- Record and make deposits to center accounts.
- Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.
- Reconcile all funding sources for the school, including state, local, and private funding.
- Generate financial statements to track and report the center’s financial health.
- Track grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Coordinate yearly audits with an external firm to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee and manage health insurance enrollment and benefits for employees.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage and update child files, including ensuring all required forms are up-to-date and accurately entered into the system.
- Answer phone calls, assist with general inquiries, and provide customer service to parents and staff.
- File documents and maintain organized financial and student records.
- Process payments from parents and assist other office staff as needed.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
