We are seeking a professional and highly-skilled Legal Secretary to join our Business/Transaction team on Oahu.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing, revising, and formatting legal documents and correspondences.
- Filing documents in various courts (Circuit and Land courts) and with the Bureau of Conveyances and DCCA.
- Calendaring and reminding attorneys of events and deadlines.
- Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files utilizing document management system.
- Performing various accounting and administrative tasks (e.g., entering timesheets, following up on client billing matters, scheduling appointments, processing mail, etc.
- Communicating with clients and others by phone and email.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years legal secretary experience. Transaction, Business, Corp., and/or Real Estate legal practice experience a plus.
Preferred but not required: experience filing documents in First Circuit, Land Court, and with the Bureau of Conveyances and DCCA.
Skills:
- Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents and correspondence.
- Computer literate - MS Word - Intermediate to Advanced skills; Excel - Basic- Intermediate; Basic level Outlook and Adobe.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional client interactions.
- Strong administrative and clerical skills to provide comprehensive support to attorneys.
- Dependable with strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively - self-starter with ability to multitask.
Preferred but not required: knowledge of CMS Aderant, Adobe, NetDocuments, or other document management program (iManage), experience in PowerPoint.
