What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Machinist - 1st Shift position at Carlson Tool & Manufacturing?
We’re looking for experienced CNC Lathe Machinists to join our team of approx. 70 skilled machinists in our safe, friendly, and climate-controlled advanced manufacturing facilities.
Based in Cedarburg, WI, our team will look to you to support the manufacturing of high-quality parts up to 160″ long and up to 36″ in diameter by creating CNC lathe programs, identifying required tooling, and maintaining accurate inspection documentation.
Starting pay ranges from $21 - $33/hr with generous perks and benefits including:

What you’ll need to succeed:
- 3 years of experience operating CNC Lathe machines is required.
- Ability to program using Mazatrol is required.
- Knowledge of Mastercam programming is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings.
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to process precision parts from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:
- Set up, Program and Run CNC Lathes
- Inspect your own parts
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation using precision measuring instruments
- Perform multiple short run jobs with frequent changeovers and tool changes
- Maintain a safe working environment
