POSITION SUMMARY:
The experienced CNC Machinist will produce a variety of high precision, high-quality components required for our machine tools and automation products. This work, conducted in a bright, temperature-controlled environment, utilizes updated equipment and the most up-to-date technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Working from detailed setup sheets, sets up and operates Fanuc-controlled lathe CNC equipment in a short run, close tolerance environment
•Able to read and interpret CAM posted G and M code
•Operates machines to produce high-precision, low-volume parts
•Safely operates overhead cranes and large part handling (up to 16,000#)
•Inspects work to ensure proper specifications and very close tolerances are met
•Communicates with others in the department to coordinate downstream operations of specialized parts
•Remains current with manufacturing technologies available to improve productivity (tooling, workholding, programming, workflows, etc.)
•Versatile and flexible to work on other equipment, run multiple machines, and assist where needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•2-5 years’ experience setup and operation of lathes in a job shop/manufacturing environment; minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
•Demonstrated high productivity through the use of good planning and technology
•Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship
•Working knowledge of Fanuc controls and machine operation required
•Possesses own quality inspection and hand tools
•Innovative and forward-thinking with a continuous improvement mindset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted. Use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 20 pounds.
•Regularly stands for 8 hours
•Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs, and moves.
•Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
•Work environment is bright and temperature controlled.
•The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils.
