Ever Other Part-Time Weekend Direct Care Staff- Grp Home Counselor

Carlton Manor Inc., the largest and most highly recognized provider of Therapeutic Group and Foster Care services to EH/SED children and youth in the Sun Coast Region seeks direct care Counselors with the motivation and willingness to provide high quality care and services to at risk children and youth in our therapeutic group home settings. The successful candidates would join an established and cohesive treatment team at CM # 1 our Boys Group Home and provide direct care services to up to 12 BOYS ages 11-17y/o in a community based Therapeutic Group Home.

Due to the level of trauma our youth have experienced- female staff is required for this position.

Direct care staff provide intensive supervision of the clients, facilitate daily recreation, daily outings within the community, therapeutic groups, cook meals, engage in 1:1 counseling sessions, crisis management, problem solving, teaching of daily living and social skills, medication administration as well as daily documentation of said services. We are looking for highly interactive and engaged staff that have the ability to remain calm, patient and use problem solving skills and have the ability to form positive relationships with our youth.

Candidates- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required in a human service field. Candidates must have a high school diploma. This is a great entry-mid level opportunity for BSW, Psychology, Human Development, Counseling or other baccalaureate degree graduates. Strong skills working with troubled youth and previous residential program experience is a plus, but we will train and support as those skills are developed.

Candidates -A High School degree is required, and some college is very helpful. Candidates shall possess a good work history, an excellent level of experience working with children, youth or adults, a tremendous desire to grow with this organization and to develop skills and acquire knowledge to be a highly effective Group Home Counselor. Presently we need:

Part-Time Hourly Weekend Counselor Position.

Specific shifts needed for CM # 1 Boys home are:

-Every other weekend Sat and Sun 8am-4pm- 8 hour shifts for total of 16 hours

-Every other weekend Sat and Sun 2pm-8pm- 6 hour shifts for total of 12 hours

We are looking for "weekend warriors/recreational specialists" that have the ability to engage and keep our youth active and involved. Strong ability to work and develop the group, problem solve, be creative, use therapeutic interventions and a strong ability to build therapeutic relationships with our youth.

As we are a 24 x 7 x 365 day program we can always use assistance on holidays, evenings during the week and weekends.

Summer- Time and breaks from school also offer more opportunity for hours both during the week and on the weekends.

Our part-time hourly rates are highly competitive and based on education and experience in the field.
