POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Youth Ministry is responsible for leading and growing a dynamic, Christ-centered youth ministry that nurtures faith for students grades six through twelve. This individual will develop and implement weekly youth programming, oversee the confirmation program for middle school students, and coordinate multiple youth retreats throughout the year. The Director of Youth Ministry will work to provide a ministry that helps students and parents connect, grow, and serve.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Youth Programming & Confirmation
- Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging weekly youth programs that foster spiritual growth and community.
- Develop and implement biblical curriculum for youth ministry that aligns with the church’s theological traditions and values.
- Oversee the confirmation program for middle school students, including curriculum selection, scheduling, and working alongside mentors and parents.
- Organize and lead youth retreats, mission trips, and service projects that provide opportunities for faith formation and leadership development.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all youth feel valued and encouraged in their faith journey.
Volunteer Recruitment & Mentorship
- Identify, recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders to assist with youth ministry programs.
- Provide ongoing training, support, and encouragement for volunteers
- Cultivate leadership opportunities for students within the youth ministry and greater church community.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Develop and manage social media platforms to engage youth and their families, promoting events and sharing faith-based content.
- Create digital and print materials for youth ministry events, including flyers, newsletters, and devotionals.
- Utilize technology and media effectively to enhance communication and outreach efforts.
Pastoral Care & Family Engagement
- Build strong relationships with students and their families through regular communication, pastoral care, and presence at key events.
- Provide guidance and support to youth and families navigating spiritual, personal, and social challenges.
- Partner with parents to equip them as primary faith influencers in their children’s lives.
- Partner with Children’s Ministry to grow youth as mentors and supporters of younger children in our church, through Vacation Bible School and other Children’s Ministry events
- Assist Pastoral staff with other duties as needed (congregational care, special events, worship, etc.)d will typically be scheduled from Monday through Friday during church office hours.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMMUNICATIONS
- Specific Technical Knowledge: Email, Social Media, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-Management: Self-motivated, relationship skills with teens and adults
- Leadership: Able to lead students and adults; Delegating roles
- Educational Requirements/Experience: At least 2 years of youth ministry experience (either as a leader or volunteer); College degree recommended; working knowledge of creative programming
- Faith: A personal love and passion for Jesus and sharing that faith with others

Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
