Lighthouse Student Ministry is the youth group of Mt. Comfort Church serving students grades 7th thru 12th. This ministry strives to encourage and equip youth towards their relationship with God and the community through weekly gatherings and events. This ministry supports the overall MCC mission of transforming our lives, our community, and our worship through the power and love of Jesus Christ.
The Lighthouse Student Ministry Leader should be over 21-years-old and plays a pivotal role in the spiritual and personal development of youth within the congregation and community. This position involves leading, coordinating, and implementing programs specifically tailored to engage and empower middle and high school youth. This leader will foster a supportive environment that encourages spiritual growth, moral development, community involvement, and leadership skills among the youth. This position averages 7-10 hours per week.
Student Ministry Leader Expectations:
- Oversee youth staff and volunteers.
- Minister to students and their families.
- Serve as a strong role model who exhibits high moral values.
- Implement, promote, and manage all Sunday night youth programming.
- Communicate with youth, parents, and congregation via all platforms.
Qualifications:
- A strong faith in Jesus Christ with a desire to lead a youth blended student ministry.
- An excitement for creatively teaching youth about the Christian Faith.
- Commitment to a safe environment conducive to meaningful connections.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, parents, and teams of volunteers.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and conflict management skills.
