Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Specialty Food Buyer at Carmela Foods in Fraser, MI. The Specialty Food Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing specialty food products, conducting market research, evaluating supplier options, negotiating contracts, and maintaining vendor relationships. The Specialty Food Buyer will also be involved in inventory management, pricing, sales support, and vendor relations.
Requirements
· 5 Years or more experience in the Food Industry preferred.
· High school Diploma.
· Preferably an associate or bachelor’s degree but not required.
· Ability to work 40 hours plus per week in an office environment.
· Ability to work well with a team or in a group setting.
· Adequate computer skills to work with Inventory Software.
· Adequate computer skills to work with Microsoft Office programs.
· Have a good knowledge of supply chain and logistics or the ability to learn processes and product lines quickly.
Responsibilities
· Sourcing new products.
· Setting up and introducing new products to the sales team and customers.
· Managing inventory levels.
· Replenishing inventory.
· Managing pricing and margins.
· Keeping the highest possible fill rate.
· Marketing and promotional activity.
· Negotiating pricing and programs with vendors.
· Forming special programs for top customers.
· Replenishing inventory.
· Sales support.
· Logistics and supply chain control.
· Vendor relations.
· Secure and organize vendors to facilitate Food Shows.

Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
