What are the responsibilities and job description for the Schlegel Sand and Gravel Dispatcher position at Carmeuse Lime & Stone?
- Take orders and dispatch trucks to fulfill customer needs
- Update and create SAP orders when needed to execute shipment
- Seek out new carriers when needed and maintain carrier relationships
- Manage the freight payment process
- Drive Carmeuse retail yards optimization through communication with sales, operations, and carriers Act as a key catalyst for site level improvements related to load-out capabilities and processes
Basic Requirements
- Degree in related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in transportation and/or logistics. Preferably dispatching in a trucking environment
- Strong analytical skills
- SAP experience desired Ability for periodic travel to CLS plants, vendor facilities and customer operations
Knowledge
- Understanding the dispatching of trucks in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
- Highly self-motivated
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills and be a clear strategic and systematic thinker as well as a strong tactical leader
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management capabilities
- Must present a professional personal image and have good relationship management skills Knows appropriate negotiating tactics and is able to negotiate win/win agreements without compromising principles

- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships both internally and externally
- Possess strong written and verbal communications skills (Emphasis: telephone, text, and email)
- Proficient in computer work, with an emphasis on Excel
- Demonstrate the ability to succeed both as an individual and as part of a team
