Carnegie Hall seeks an Intern to join the Education Production team. This team is responsible for producing a variety of events across New York City, the U.S. and internationally, this position is part of the Weill Music Institute (WMI), Carnegie Hall's education and social impact arm.
A member of the Education Production team, this position supports all events produced by WMI at Carnegie Hall and across NYC. This role supports all Education Production administrative processes, interfacing with other Carnegie Hall departments, to help facilitate WMI’s dynamic programing, ranging from workshops and master classes top rehearsals and concerts across musical genres. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to staffing events, maintaining calendars and documents, updating databases, and ordering supplies.
Scope of responsibilities:
Create and maintain WMI production paperwork for Carnegie Hall concerts and productions, including schedules, run sheets, meeting agendas, and more.
Staff/Attend events as part of the production team in the capacity of production assistant (supporting stage and audience setup, hospitality, and ticketing/front of house) and/or assistant stage manager (supporting rehearsals, and artist movement).
Support the ticketing process as needed.
Attend production meetings as assigned and take notes during the meetings.
Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize and work as part of a team
Ability to work a flexible schedule of 20 hrs/wk, including nights and weekends as required
Attention to detail, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure
Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SharePoint a plus.
Ability to lift at least 30lbs
A background in production, performing arts, events, or arts administration
Salary : $15 - $20
