Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Computing Services is searching for a Business Analyst, Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department in providing essential support by assisting with the analysis, problem resolution and functional support of the Oracle Financials System. This includes system setups, feeder support, and other production support related items. This position will work closely with various divisions and the campus community, working proactively with counterparts and end users to identify ways to gain processing efficiencies. The incumbent is responsible for participating in financial system projects; special projects such as Oracle Upgrades; month-end closing tasks; and serving as an escalation point for Help Desk questions. The incumbent should be technically inclined in matters of accounting, finance and operations and experience with Oracle E-Business Financials suite is a plus.

Your core responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems/issues in the operation of the Oracle Financials accounting system, which includes the following: analysis of the problem/issue, working with the module manager or respective end user, working with the Oracle development team, working with Computing Services teams, testing the solutions and coordinating the solutions with other impacted modules. In addition, this individual must thoroughly document issues, testing procedures, and resolutions to those issues via CMU audit and issue tracking systems. Furthermore, this position may review reports of nightly jobs to fix exceptions, create reports or other documentation. Assist with testing and rollout of Wands for Oracle, Citrix, and other non-Oracle technical related items. This includes working with Computing Services, DSP, Dept. Admins, as well as end users.
- Participate in Financial System initiatives, which may include integration of existing or new International campuses/initiatives, Oracle upgrades, other Oracle related activities such as patching, technical changes, etc., or other new initiatives that arise due to new requirements or compliance rules.
- Perform monthly and year-end close processing activities, which includes working with other module owners and end users to ensure closing processes are successful and timely.
- Find and make recommendations on efficiency gains within existing processes & procedures; proactively monitor system processes for issues that might arise; must remain fluent with end-user tools for the purpose of providing solutions to system user requests.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures, and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments.
- Not responsible for supervising others.
