Business Intelligence Architect - Computing and Technology Services Salary: Commensurate with experience POSITION
SUMMARY: The
Business Intelligence Architect I is responsible for supporting the process of
evaluating, modeling, and visualizing data to support decision making. Through reporting, analysis, and data
visualization, this position supports varied operational and functional
business processes and participates in discussions around reporting
requirements and data visualizations. Creating reports and assisting with the maintenance of the Cognos
enterprise reporting and analytics environment is also a primary responsibility
of this position. The Business Intelligence
Architect I will work as a part of a team and collaborate with peers and
customers to support the creation of a streamlined analytic and reporting
environment that will meet decision support and reporting objectives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates business processes and identify opportunities to enhance delivery of
information for decision making using data visualization. Develop reports using
business intelligence tools adhering to established frameworks and standards.
Support report authors with data analysis and design and the development of
dashboards and reports, leveraging enterprise tools. Follow report request and approval procedures
and ensure authorized use of data in report requests. Maintain confidentiality
when working with University data. Conduct individual and group training to
enhance data and technical literacy. Supports application installations and
upgrades and develop documentation and training materials to educate the user
community. Work with Database
Administrators to test enhancements to the operational data store and
incorporate changes into the Cognos framework. Monitor tools and infrastructure to ensure the availability and
performance of developed reports and dashboards. Assists in implementing data management
and business intelligence practices that streamline information delivery. Promote the definition and implementation of
strategic, data-driven roadmaps. Adheres to published policies
regarding security and support and enforce security procedures at all times. Assist in the identification, investigation,
and mitigation of security risks. Participates in departmental change
management process. Ensure that proper
change management and change controls are executed and adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information science, computer science
or a relate field from an accredited institution Minimum 2 years of experience
in working with business intelligence and data analytics tools (PowerBI,
Tableau, etc.) Preferred
qualifications: Master’s degree in information systems, information science, computer science
or a relate field from an accredited institution. Alternately, the
successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and
training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to
