CMU’s Computing Services department is searching for a Principal Technology Enhanced Facility Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and exciting work environment. This position will Lead the set-up, management, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment that support University events on and off campus, also resident equipment associated with technology enhanced facilities. Ensure all of the audio-visual presentations and equipment is configured, setup correctly, operates smoothly, and is taken down and stored properly. Position will be responsible for fulfilling orders for Event services. This position may be a subject matter expert that is responsible for the temporary installation, maintenance, and repair of AV equipment. Expert knowledge to repair equipment, maintain a catalog of equipment the organization owns, set up and operate equipment during events and demonstrations, etc. Provide support for live presentations, distance learning and audio/video conferencing. This role will work University faculty, staff and students, and may work with outside vendors and non-university contractors for the implementation and support of AV equipment. Train, mentor and coach other Media Services equipment technicians. Teach others to operate equipment and document processes and services the department offers.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Assists the Audio Visual Design and Tech teams within the division with layouts and schematics of spaces that technology will be needed in.
Collaborates with other departments and teams around Campus to provide exemplary support for technology enhanced facilities.
Maintains catalog of equipment the organization owns.
May film video productions.
May train or instruct students, staff or faculty on operation of A/V equipment. Trouble shoots user issues.
Mentor, train and coach lower media technology equipment technicians.
Provides troubleshooting and repair escalation for End User concerns with Technology within Technology Enhanced Facility spaces and Computer Labs.
Responsible for set-up (as directed),installation and operation of Technology Enhanced Facilities equipment that is used for classroom instruction and occasionally events.
Schedules and keeps records regarding inventory of equipment. Locates and retrieves missing equipment and/or notified manager of missing equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

Associate's Degree
Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
Strong Problem-Solving and Reasoning Skills
3-5 years of Relevant Work Experience
