The Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dishwashing areas. This role ensures that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are properly cleaned, stored, and ready for use, supporting the culinary team in delivering a high-quality dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans following health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing station and kitchen area.
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Assist in basic food prep tasks, such as peeling vegetables or preparing ingredients, as directed by chefs.
- Properly dispose of garbage, recyclables, and food waste following hotel waste management procedures.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors, clean walls, and sanitize food prep areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Replenish kitchen supplies, such as plates, silverware, and kitchen tools, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist with receiving and storing kitchen deliveries to maintain proper inventory organization.
- Support banquet and restaurant operations by ensuring all necessary kitchen equipment is clean and available.
- Prior experience in a stewarding or dishwashing role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist other kitchen staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
