What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equity and Belonging Specialist position at Carney, Sandoe & Associates?
The Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will be responsible for designing and implementing programs and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the school community. This will include working closely with faculty and staff to develop and deliver training and professional development opportunities, as well as collaborating with students, parents, and guardians to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a diverse educational setting, with a strong understanding of equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and practices. They will also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
In partnership with the Assistant Head of School for Student Life and Head of Lower School, the Director will strengthen Restorative Justice practices and address complex interpersonal student issues as they arise. They will also serve as a residential faculty member, supporting the typical boarding school environment and providing coaching and classroom teaching guidance.
