Job Summary
Fast-growing boutique law practice in lovely lake town of Seneca, South Carolina seeks an associate attorney who is skilled with communicating with clients, has an interest in Elder Law practice, has some experience with Estate Planning. We have a very loyal and growing client base that is coming primarily from referrals from both clients and other attorneys. There is a high-influx of people moving here and the Firm is growing exponentially as a result. The focus of our practice is creating custom estate plans for a high net-worth clientele. Probate and guardianships make up the rest of our practice, so skills in those competencies are also welcome. Training will be provided in areas where you do not have much expertise and would prefer a candidate who is a self-starter and is able to accurately assess where they need extra training. There is currently one Attorney (licensed in both SC and FL) and two paralegals. We are looking for an associate who will fast-track to partner and eventually take over the firm. Pay will be negotiable and based on experience. Licensing in more than one state is always a plus!
Duties
- Meet with clients for an initial consult and prepare an engagement letter based on that meeting.
- Draft and review legal documents, including estate plans, pleadings, motions, and contracts.
- Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings as necessary.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and all client folders are complete.
- Collaborate with senior attorney on complex cases and provide insights based on research findings.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations, including changes to tax laws, that may affect client cases.
- Provide exceptional client service by communicating effectively and addressing client concerns promptly - we answer phone calls and emails within 24-hours, when possible.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in South Carolina.
- MUST be an expert at using the MS suite of products!
- Strong knowledge of Estate planning concepts, Elder Law and Trusts is preferred.
- Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to write clearly and persuasively for various legal documents.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively.
- Experience in a law office setting is advantageous; familiarity with legal administrative tasks is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing individual caseloads effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing high-quality client service.
