Inventory Control Specialist
Basic Function
Responsible for performing all retail pharmacy inventory, pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications, control functions within established guidelines.
Duties
- Place all orders for inventory, labels, vials and supplies in the pharmacy department.
- Pricing and distribution of all vendor orders.
- Remove out-of-date and discontinued products and return them for credit.
- Keep prices current on pharmacy-related products.
- Serve as liaison between Pharmacists and pharmacy-related vendors.
- Maintain files on paperwork/documentation sent from pharmacy-related vendors.
- Monitor that medications and shelf tags in the pharmacy area are correctly placed and updated.
- Complete all paperwork/documentation pertaining to the above duties fully and accurately.
- Responsible for pharmacy mailings via US Postal/UPS.
- POS (Point-of-Sale) update items.
- Assist pharmacy drug representatives.
- Assist pharmacy staff and customers with questions regarding inventory, products and services.
- Maintain all shelving and inventory to display a neat professional image.
- Knowledge of vendor pricing to insure low cost purchasing.
- Responsible for all activities and reporting related to annual inventory.
- Provide quality customer service to the customer.
- Promptly answer multi-line telephone.
- General knowledge of all company products, services and locations.
- Act in a professional manner at all times to customers and other employees.
- Interact as needed with other departments and locations regarding products and services.
- Operate standard office equipment including:
- photocopy machine
- fax machine
- computer/printer
- postage machine
- multi-line telephone
- Keep work areas neat and clean.
- Comply with HIPAA policies and procedures.
