Our Opportunity: Quality Control Lead
Status: Full Time Day Shift
Hours: 12 hour shift - 6a-6p
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Compensation: $24.00 - $25.50 per hour depending on experience
Summary
This position oversees Lab analysis and microbiological analysis to ensure a quality product is being consistently produced at all times.
What You Will Be Doing
- Performs microbiological analysis of products, water and environment.
- Performs taste tests to assure quality.
- Accurately collect samples for testing, including energy drinks, sweetener samples, raw water, treated water, sanitation rinse water and post sanitation swabbing without compromising validity of test sample.
- Identifies and completes Gluten Free and Allergen testing.
- Ensures batching sheets are filled out properly and within specifications before signing off.
- Performs product testing pertaining to energy drinks, including but not limited to: CO2, air, volumes, seam check, ph, brix, flavor and any others as required.
- Performs Titratable Acidity analysis of products.
- Performs HPLC analysis of products for caffeine and preservative levels.
- Ensures accuracy of all measuring devices, including their calibration.
- Accurately records and documents results from product analysis.
- Sends COA’s and micro reports to customers.
- Maintains Yield Tracking Analysis.
- Updates titration folders and micro folders for new products and formulas.
- Monitors and controls reference room samples and product retains.
- Ensures product analysis and micro plating is being performed accurately and as required.
- Oversees the training of new Lab Techs.
- Performs HPLC preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and training.
- Makes up yearly testing folders.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
- Creates and updates Lab SOP’s.
- Ensures all weekly and daily lab duties are completed accurately and as required.
- Creates Production Sheets when needed.
- Works with other QC Lead’s to complete required QC workload and to ensure quality throughout the production process.
- Highly accurate and detail orientated.
What You Need to Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures
- Must have thorough knowledge of wide variety of analytical testing equipment and microbial testing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
- Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Production environment
Job Setting
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Extended standing on hard surfaces.
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Occasionally exposed to working on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic/caustic chemicals, and high pressure steam.
