Shift: Nights- 5pm-5am with rotating days and weekends (2-2-3) schedule

Summary: A wastewater operator works in a wastewater treatment plant running the equipment, monitoring the plant and maintaining the equipment. Wastewater operators are in charge of making sure the process of cleaning the waters is effective and they make sure that government guidelines are followed.
- Operate and interpret results for pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and spectrographic analytical equipment, sampling instruments, and flow instruments and detect equipment malfunctions
- Maintain and perform basic maintenance on pumps, motors, aerators, air compressors, pneumatic auxiliaries, hydraulically driven equipment, belt and chain drive systems, digital and analog controllers and sensors, irrigation, plumbing, and electrical components
- Supports product safety, quality and legality
- Supports and complies with GMP's
- Collects samples and makes process reports
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong motor controls and PLC skills.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to train and work on various shifts.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical & electro - mechanical systems and practical knowledge of plant electrical/mechanical systems.
- Strong working knowledge of automated conveyor systems.
- Ability to analyze electro-mechanical devices, trouble shoot failures and implement repairs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work in wet, humid or outdoor conditions; near moving mechanical parts; on elevated platforms; with fumes or airborne particles; and vibration exposure.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
