We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them set and achieve personal goals related to recovery.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in discussions about their recovery journey.
- Mentor individuals by sharing personal experiences and coping strategies that promote self-advocacy and empowerment.
- Conduct crisis intervention and management as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on recovery topics, encouraging peer interaction and support.
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to develop individualized care plans that address clients' unique needs.
- Assist clients in navigating systems of care, including accessing community resources and services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with agency policies.
Experience
- Previous experience in social work, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling is preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and crisis management are essential for success in this role.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and mentoring practices is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of behavioral health systems and resources available for individuals in recovery is beneficial.
- Certification as a Peer Specialist is required; additional certifications in related fields are a plus.
