Admission Associate

Position Status: Full-Time/Twelve-Month Position

As the first point of contact for prospective families, the Admission Office plays a vital role in shaping their experience at CDS. Our team builds meaningful connections with families throughout the admission process, laying the foundation for a strong and lasting relationship within our school community.
The Admission Associate will be responsible for guiding families through the admission process and must have a working knowledge of all divisions at Carolina Day School. The ideal candidate will have independent school experience with strong relationship-building skills. Additionally, exceptional customer service, time management, organization, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. The Admission Associate should be proactive, able to work independently, and capable of managing tasks and projects.
The Admission and Enrollment Office Team is a collaborative work environment that encourages a growth mindset and goal-oriented outcomes. As the first impression of Carolina Day School for prospective families, our team provides a welcoming environment and ensures all families have an equitable and supportive experience throughout the admission process. Team members are also active Wildcat community members supporting our students in their extra-curricular events and participating in school community gatherings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Admission/Relationship Management
- Manage the admission process for families inquiring/applying to Carolina Day School, including but not limited to processing applications, scheduling visits and admission testing, leading campus tours, and coordinating admission committee meetings.
- Administer admission testing or arrange group testing for applicants applying to Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8.
- Communicate clearly with prospective families in person, via email, and by phone. This includes keeping them informed of the admission process and next steps, and/or inviting them to admission/school events.
- Maintain your admission funnel to help focus your efforts on the next steps for families going through the admission process. This includes maintaining documentation and files in the admission database.
- Develop relationships with faculty and staff to stay informed about the CDS community and enhance admission efforts.
- Assist in writing and/or editing admission news, updates, decisions, etc.
- Assist in onboarding new families.
Office Management and Administrative Team Support
- Take initiative to support team members and faculty/staff across divisions
- Assist in planning admission events
- Attend all admission-related events, including those outside of regular school hours
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- 3-4 years of independent school experience (faculty/staff position)
- Enjoys connecting and communicating with parents and students
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluency with Google Workspace and Excel/Google Sheets required. Experience with Finalsite Admissions is desired
