Summary of Position:
The Quality Assurance Auditor supports the behavioral health program by assisting the Clinical Directors with initiatives designed to adhere to the standards, regulations, and requirements issued by accreditation organizations and state/federal agencies. The specialist is also responsible for performing audits of client records, data validation, records requests, and collaborating with the management team regarding performance improvement.
The position is full-time with a flexible schedule between 8:30am-8pm Monday-Thursday and 9:00am-1:00pm Friday.
Job Duties:
- Audit client records and clinical documentation for compliance with state licensure, Medicaid, CARF, and other regulatory agency requirements for all programs.
- Review records and provide feedback to clinical staff regarding performance, strengths, and improvement areas for quality service delivery.
- Collaborate on the development of quality assurance plans with the management team to ensure compliance and improved practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of system improvement trainings to address deficiencies identified during standard audit procedures.
- Determine records to be released by reviewing requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient information from various sources including electronic or physical records that match requests.
- Escalate issues that delay the timely release of records to program managers.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have knowledge and experience in electronic health records and training.
- Have 3 years of quality assurance and healthcare experience.
- Possess strong clinical and analytical skills, be detail oriented, and have prioritized projects in an organized manner.
- Have the ability to analyze complex information and problems and be able to apply critical thinking skills to resolve program assurance difficulties.
- Possess and maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding the delivery of mental health services.
- Have the ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures and formulate improved processes where applicable.
- Be adaptive to fluctuating workload and alternative assignments with a positive attitude and work style to accomplish goals and expectations set forth by the agency.
- Possess excellent oral and written presentation skills with the ability to write and articulate documents necessary for program development and implementation.
- Work well under pressure and have excellent problem-solving skills
- Work well independently and within a team.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in business, health care administration, management, or a closely related field and three years experience that includes total quality management or related program activities OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Excellent computer skills. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR platforms (electronic medical record). Able to work in various programs with great data entry skills.
- No prior history of sanctions on boards, exclusion lists, and other requirements set forth by CARF and SC Medicaid.
