Carolina Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) is seeking a full time, highly experienced and strategically focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee our financial operations and serve as an active member of an engaged and collaborative senior leadership team. The incumbent will be responsible for guiding financial strategy, overseeing all financial operations, evaluating organizational performance, and participating in strategic decision making directed toward ensuring the health center’s ability to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and integrated primary care in the communities served.

Carolina Health Centers, Inc. (CHC), established in 1977, is located in the beautiful Lakelands region of South Carolina with its main Administrative Office in the town of Greenwood. CHC’s service area includes seven rural counties, with 16 medical practice sites and two community pharmacies serving over 26,000 unduplicated patients. CHC is committed to providing comprehensive and fully integrated services to everyone regardless of socioeconomic barriers. Services include comprehensive primary care, integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, pharmacy services, and child development services including evidence-based home visitation services. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial management functions and associated staff resources, ensuring the implementation of proper accounting systems and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Serve as a key contributor to company-wide strategic planning, analyzing market trends and financial climates to assist senior leadership in decision-making.
  • Actively represent the organization with external partners including the Primary Care Association, the health center owned Independent Practice Association, and any other value-based care organizations to which CHC may become affiliated.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation governing financial practices.
  • Oversee company-wide budgetary planning, including preparation for FQHC Grant budgets, Operational Budgets, and other assigned financial projects.
  • Negotiate and implement reimbursement structures and manage contract renewals, analyze performance, and identify improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare industry practices, compliance, and financial systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior management within a federally qualified community health center or similar healthcare setting.
  • Candidates with specific experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center or Health Center Look-Alike are preferred.
