What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at CAROLINA LEGAL ASSOCIATES?
CLA has an immediate opening for an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a well-established law firm located in the Charleston, SC area. The ideal candidate will assist senior paralegals and attorneys in all stages of the litigation process from discovery work to pretrial preparation, trial, and post-trial work. Must be comfortable with legal research and be able to assist in all aspects of case management. Candidates must have strong communication skills to communicate with both clients and attorneys. Sample responsibilities :
- Preparation and service of Pleadings
- Maintaining case documents / databases
- Reviewing case documents and preparing case chronologies
- Preparing the first draft of discovery including drafting and answering interrogatories, requests for production, and requests to admit
- Drafting and serving subpoenas
- Legal Document preparation and drafting including pleadings, motions, trial documents, etc.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and SC Civil Procedure requirements
