Essential Functions
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, adhering to company standards
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, coffee brewers, and other equipment safely
- Provide high-end customer service with kindness, respect, and empathy at the forefront of all interactions
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including café seating and equipment
- Restock supplies and ingredients
- Handle transactions accurately and honestly with our POS system
- Have a team-oriented attitude and willingness to step in to help one another when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Lead Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, adhering to company and food safety standards
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, coffee brewers, and other equipment safely and responsibly
- Provide high-end customer service with kindness, respect, and empathy at the forefront of all interaction
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including café seating and equipment
- Restock supplies and ingredients
- Handle transactions accurately and honestly with our POS system
- Have a team-oriented attitude and willingness to step in to help one another when needed
- Assist with the receiving, rotating, and inventory of stock
- Override transactions as needed, and handle customer complaints and concerns when needed
- Count money and ensure it is recorded accurately and placed in the office safe properly
- Ensure tips are collected and placed in the office safe daily for recording and disbursement weekly
- Open and close the store, and ensure all doors and windows are locked upon arrival and departure
- Ensure and enforce food safety policies, attendance policies, and other company policies as needed
- Assist in marketing and product resets for sales, seasonal promotions, and events.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Previous experience as a barista or bartender is preferred, but not required
- A food service background is preferred
- Must have a passion for coffee, and a desire to learn about brewing techniques and specialty beverages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality over everything
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
