- Full-Time: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Part-Time: Thursday - Sunday, 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Job Overview
As an Animal Caregiver at Carolina Poodle Rescue, you will be responsible for providing direct care to the dogs in our sanctuary. This includes caring for dogs with special needs, behavioral issues, and those awaiting adoption. You will play an essential role in ensuring their well-being and helping them thrive in a loving and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Care: Feed, water, and clean the dogs’ living areas according to established protocols.
- Behavioral Support: Assist with managing and monitoring dogs with behavioral issues, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.
- Medical Care: Administer medications, monitor health, and report any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Socialization & Enrichment: Provide companionship, basic training, and enrichment activities to help improve the dogs' social skills and quality of life.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of the dogs’ health, behavior, and daily activities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to provide the best care possible for our dogs.
- Facility Maintenance: Assist with the upkeep of the sanctuary’s cleanliness and safety.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience working with animals, especially dogs with special needs or behavioral challenges, is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate & Patient: Must be empathetic, understanding, and patient, particularly with dogs requiring extra care and attention.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility: Availability to work the scheduled shifts, including weekends and evenings for part-time positions.
