What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phone Agent (Not Remote) position at Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union?
Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union has a full time Phone Agent position availabile on site in the Member Service Center, located at the Conway branch.
Job Purpose: Serve as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Responsible for answering the phone, processing loan requests, opening new accounts and performing account maintenance. This position provides a variety of transaction services to members and assists MSR I with member needs.
Pay: $17.91 - $22.39 (Hourly)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answer the phone enthusiastically and direct them to the proper person or department if you are unable to help them.
- Cross sell appropriate products and services to include GAP, MRC, and Credit Life and Disability insurance.
- Process and take action on consumer loan applications.
- Cooperate with other department personnel to ensure a “team effort” and prompt member service.
- Open new accounts, certificates, and IRAs.
- Process Certificate and IRA transactions.
- Answer the member services line or return messages in a prompt manner.
- Assist members with direct deposit forms, online payroll forms, and loan applications.
- Answer member service mail.
- Help members with forgery affidavits.
- Reactivate dormant accounts.
- Assist in all other member service areas when needed.
- Stays informed regarding local and national economic conditions and legal and regulatory changes/requirements including but not limited to BSA/ALM compliance.
- Comply with Courtesy Coverage program by following all written procedures set forth by CU management, including the knowledge of the program and the ability to communicate the program to members. All staff should be responsible to attend any required training as it relates to the Courtesy Coverage program.

Education & Experience Required:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum one year of related experience.
- Previous lending experience or experience with full-service financial institution helpful.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Work requires knowledge of a multi-line telephone system and knowledge of all credit union products and services. These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a high school education plus experience in the teller and/or member service area of a financial institution.
- Knowledge of credit union loan services, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices.
- Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan documentation.
- Excellent interviewing and communcation skills.
