Medical Billing- Full Time
**This is a in-office position only**
Busy Ophthalmology practice is looking for a medical biller.
Primary responsibilities include:
Reviewing charge entry from EHR system, attention to detail for mistakes.
Post Insurance payments
Making contact with insurance companies via their online portal or via the telephone to identify the reason for the denial.
Follow up on claims that have had no response from insurance companies.
Follow up on claims that have had partial payments but have remaining unpaid charges.
Document all follow-up activities
Answer insurance-related questions
Answer incoming billing calls from patients and or insurance companies.
Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Must be team-oriented
Excellent customer service skills
Strong follow-up and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS) and billing (preferred)
1 year of experience required
Knowledge/experience with Nextech (preferred, but willing to train)
Coding/Billing credential from AAPC/AHIMA is a plus
Experience in ophthalmology coding, billing, and surgery is a plus.
